Data exploration overview

Data exploration is a category of analyses encompassing visualising the distribution of marker scores as well as score clustering and modelling. Marker scores are visualised using a plot with score values on the x-axis, and the frequency of those scores on the y-axis.

For continuous scores, density plots show the distribution of scores as a line, for categorical scores histograms are used.

TMA Navigator also includes mixture modelling, which clusters groups of samples by their marker expression score. Mixture modelling can inform patient stratification. TMA Navigator allows for survival analysis of the groups identified (see survival analysis).
